About the event

Risky play is essential for young children to push their limits and take responsibility for their own learning and sometimes this feels at odds with out instinctive drive to keep children safe. Come down to Baltic Street and we'll show you how to manage risk and encourage risky play whilst keeping your children safe!

In this training we'll take an in depth look at how to identify, facilitate and risk assess risky play as well as how it fits in to the wider landscape of the childcare sector in Scotland.

We will also have a look at different types of play spaces, what they offer and how you can make the outdoor spaces in your setting offer a diverse range of experiences that stimulate child-led learning.

Our goal is to get people excited about playing outdoors and empower staff to be changemakers within their settings, able to advocate for the outdoors to all stakeholders.
